Yesterday I finally saw The Tree of Life. It was pretty good, although not the masterpiece that the Palme d’Or suggest. I guess I have to wait to see the other Cannes films before I can judge whether they did the right choice.  The film looks great and I felt kind of haziness from it, like we are seeing someone’s memories rather than events from first hand. The ending was kind of underwhelming, but I guess I need to see it again. At my screening about 15 people just walked out, I guess it was too demanding for their romcom heads or whatever.
